It has been around since 1995, and it has really established itself as the one to beat in this segment. This is the second generation of the Mercedes-Benz Vito, and it has definitely improved over the outgoing model. Nowadays, there’s a lot more competition out there, but the Vito offers more than most of its competitors. For example, it’s not the most expensive to buy, but you get a generous amount of standard kit, and it has more safety features as standard than any other van in the segment. In terms of practicality, the Vito is really strong. It’s available in two wheelbases; with the load capacity ranging from 4.65 to 6.49 cubic metres, and you can fit a euro-pallet in through the sliding side doors. When it comes to driving, the Vito is a really easy van to manage. There’s good visibility and an elevated driving position, while the tight steering and smooth ride make for a pleasant journey.
