Hyundai Santa Fe (06 - 12)

The Santa Fe is one of the best SUVs around. Hyundai are consistently producing top quality cars and the Santa Fe is benefiting from this. It’s a practical car, also reliable, efficient, and easy on fuel. On the inside, there are lots of soft touch materials in a comfortable and roomy cabin. There is a nicely designed centre console, lots of technology, and a big boot. The torquey engines allow it to easily tow a loaded trailer or smaller caravan if needs be. The steering can sometimes feel light, but the handling is sharp and the ride quality is smooth. There can be a bit of body roll on corners. When it comes to engine selection, there are two: the 2.7-litre V6, and the 2.2-litre diesel. The 2.7-litre V6 was designed mainly for the North American market and is hard to come by in Ireland. Then there’s the 2.2-litre diesel, generating 148bhp and plenty of torque. It is a strong car that can tow around 2200kg.
